G-16 driven clutch needed
Hey guys, My neighbor just inherited a Yamaha 6-16 with a Honda V twin and massive lift kit. The driven clutch inner sheave is broken in 3 places. Any suggestions on which clutch to get that can handle the Honda power? Should he get a special spring to go with a clutch?
Thanks in advance, Barry |

Re: G-16 driven clutch needed
The stock OEM clutch will handle the Honda--or Briggs--power. Replace both sheaves with OEM-not China aftermarket-and a new stock or Yamaha u-max spring. Check the spring seat, and replace the ramp shoes, too.
Some of the torque springs--mainly the white ones--are too stiff and can cause clutch sheave failure. I've got an extra new OEM sliding sheave... |
