I agree with Jjance. If you are hunting and pulling a trailer you are asking for disappointment and/or trouble by not doing a full upgrade.
I just installed a new 500 amp Alltrax SR controller and D&D motor in my DS. I like the SR because it has lots of flexibility, plenty of power and has a fan in it. I'm hoping the fan will be helpful when I get a little crazy with loads and hills. I think I probably ruined my AXE with my driving habits.
