Default Tire size increase ?

Hi

I have a 2010 cc precedent code 4 with 8.5 tires.

If l change the tires to 10" would this give me any more speed. Right now l am about 19.5 mph. My community has some steep hills causing my mph to drop off.

Thanks

Alan

You are writing wheel size not tire size. If you increase tire size u will increase speed but u can go too large and lose torque which won't help u on your hilly streets.

I use pi x d and calculate ~2mph from 18 to 20 tire diameter Others will chime in or you can research johnnieb who has done lots of these calcs and gets into motor rpm as well.

2mph would be perfect.

This fall l will change over to 20" diameter street tires. My wheels are the cc stock wheels with hubs.

With a 20" diameter l should be ok without a lift, what do you think?

Thanks

20" tires are supposed to be the max. for a stock cart with good springs. At worst you might need a 1/2" block in the front and/or a longer shackle for the rear.

What your going to need is more HP. Bigger tires won't help much if you don't have the power to drive them. And if you ever want to get above 19.5 you need a speed magnet.
