Default Nut in front leafs too big for Jake's axle

Am installing a Jake's 4" lift kit on my 92 Marathon, and went to install the new front axle.

The existing nuts at the front of each leaf, used to locate the leaf in the axle, are too big, and won't fit in the holes in the Jake's axle. Using a smaller bolt/nut will have too much play in the bolt shaft.

Anyone run into this, and have an easier solution than grinding down the nuts?
