Another slow running cart thread
Cart details:
2007 Ezgo TXT, PDS 36 volt all factory electronics. Lifted 5" with 22" all terrains. Here is the issue: Cart ran fine when we pulled it into the shop to stretch it. When we pulled it onto the trailer after the stretch it would run and stop and surge. Now it just runs really slow. Diagnostics so far: I went through the troubleshooting procedures listed on ScottyB's site and came up with a bad ITS because I was getting 14+ volts at the white wire on the sensor. I assumed that since we stretched the wiring that it was human error and I didn't get the wires soldered correctly. I bypassed the white and black wires from the plug to the ITS with the same 14 volts. I then removed the sensor and swapped it out with a known working ITS (came off of my other cart which I drove before and after to be sure) and it still is at 14 volts at the white wire and also 14 volts straight out of the pin on the controller when the 4 pin molex is unplugged. At this point I am assuming a bad controller, but I would like some guidance from some of you that know more than me. I have been trying to convince the owner to do a 48 volt conversion and motor swap for a while now I just don't think he wants to drop that coin just yet. Any advice will be appreciated. If I missed something or you need more data I will get it for you. |

Re: Another slow running cart thread
Also pack voltage is at 37.4 and at full throttle it is only dropping to 36.5 and recovering almost immediately.

Re: Another slow running cart thread
The speed sensor is a magnet on the tail end of the motor that counts motor rpms and sends the count to the speed controller. Magnets go bad and can be replaced. Another possibility is that the solenoid is welded closed causing the cart to go into safe mode.
What controller and upgrades are you running with your 22" tires? |

Re: Another slow running cart thread
I am embarrassed! all that work on troubleshooting and I forgot to plug the speed sensor back into the controller. in my defense it the plug hid from me under the wire cluster. Hooked it up and we are back in business. Thank you guys for your help.
