So: I am pretty sure I am looking for "used"... I want to keep it under 3K, is that possible?
1. Probably electric, since I don't think I would like the noise and smell of gas. Unless.. I can't get the job done with electric because the batteries won't last the day, Or it would cost me a lot more etc..
2. One driver and passenger, would like a bench seat.
3. Probably not more than two bags of feed. If it is more than that we'll use the truck.
4. I don't think I would be towing much... the truck or the tractor and wagon would do that job.
5. Have a gravel road I would possibly travel on, but not regular roads.
6. I want a roof, but don't want a windshield to clean. lol
So after all that do you all still think a Club Car is what I need? Is that better than an EZ-GO?
I recommend an E-Z-GO RXV. Look for one late 2012 or newer... The AC drive of the RXV is more efficient than series or sepex drive, so you'll get more distance per KiloWatt hour of battery capacity. It has the torque you'll need, it can run slow without overheating, and it can tow a small trailer without having to spend money on upgrades to the drive system. You can find fresh off-lease RXVs for a lot less money too.

You do want a windshield if you every think you will use it in rain, cold, etc.

AprilV,

If you want to get an electric cart, it is a great advantage to REALLY, REALLY understand how to evaluate and maintain batteries before you buy a cart. There are lots of good articles about that on BGW. I think that an electric cart would serve you well in your application ... I really enjoy the peace and quiet of our electric cart after our previous work vehicle was a two stroke quad!

Sounds like you will use it lightly so maybe a newer RXV is just the ticket. I only suggested an older DS because it can be built to do stuff it was never intended for easily, and my personal dislike for plastic carts. Also an older cart will often have to be rebuilt to perform like a new one. Do keep us posted on what you come up with for choices/deals in your area!

Thanks y'all! I greatly appreciate all the info.. being such a newbie. :-) So... where is a good place to learn all about these batteries? Is there a thread I should go to? I am wondering about how to maintain them, what does 6x8 conversion mean and what about solar, is that even an option yet?

OH... and about the rain, does that not mix well with electric carts?

check out this website -------------> http://www.cartsunlimited.net/
There is a wealth of info about cart drive systems and applications as well as a great tutorial about maintaining your batteries. The owner is a member here and is really good about helping members/customers with issues and purchases.
