Is this a good buy? 2000 ezgo txt
I want to build a cart for my family of 7. So I will be stretching or making a towable double seat.
The cart I am looking at has no batteries but looks to be in good shape. https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/snw/6589526588.html God buy at $500? |

Yes, it's a series cart. Slower but, makes lots of torque.
Make no mistake - you will need all the upgrades and 48 VOLTS to haul the added weight of modifications and a family of 7 |

Thank you. I actually emailed you last night re this project. I intended to go 48v. What items from your site do you suggest?

Re: Is this a good buy? 2000 ezgo txt
I would use something like the Ezgo series motor pkg #3 here > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/ezgo.html
Do not make the mistake of putting big tires on this. That really cuts the torque off at the knees. 48v/ 20" tires/ Aftermarket motor package will alright. You might get 18-20 mph out of it but with the family on board that is plenty fast... consider some brake upgrades as well. |

500 for the cart, 1600 for the motor/controller kit. + batteries(6 8v), charger, and maybe brakes and I'm rolling the family to the neighbors house down the road? With option to lift and 20" tires (max)?
Thanks for the help! |

Re: Is this a good buy? 2000 ezgo txt
I found a 01 ezgo, 36v with charger that is working. Comes with lift kit. For $850.
That seems like a better deal. I can at least use it while I purchase and upgrade. |

Just found a working 01 36v. With charger and lift in bix. I can get it at 850. That is going to be better, agree?

Re: Is this a good buy? 2000 ezgo txt
That really depends upon the age and condition of the batteries that are installed in it. Sometimes it's better to just start with a blank slate and build it exactly like you want it. You'll probably want to go with 48V right at the beginning, otherwise you spend more fixing things up at 36V, then starting over.
