Perhaps the OBC is ok although it’s been carefully bypassed and left in place in case future use is desired. I got him 6 new T875’s and will install tomorrow or Friday. I will let you guys know the outcome with the new batteries. Wouldn’t it be cool if our smart charger vendors had some “smart charger only” or “warning-OBC bypassed” stickers for sale? Just a thought. I worry that in the future a charging mishap could occur if charged at a friends house or country club. You know what I mean? I have a handful of friends that drop their junk off at my house when they break. They would certainly need these stickers lol. Maybe someone does make them, I don’t know
I see your point, but if an OBC bypass is done properly, a factory charger won't even turn on.

Oh haha. Well then. I thought it would just go wide open the whole time. I didn’t even try it. I must have gotten confused in the thread. Going to read back now. Thank you

Only if you put the grey sense lead wire to the main negative post of the pack, which is not necessary with a smart charger. Proper procedures requires that you totally eliminate this wire, as a smart charger only needs two pins, positive and negative. The sense lead is not necessary.

I use the gray wire to activate the charger interlock so I won't drive away with the charger DC cord still plugged in.

This is also an option with certain smart chargers.

I replaced the batteries and everything appears good to go. When I went back to install the new Trojans, the old ones had emitted a black sludge out of the caps! They were nasty. Thx for all the info guys.
