I leave mine plugged in all the time, factory charger that came with the cart. No problems. and no water usage.

You realize that most chargers will not keep the batteries topped off once charged, and have to be unplugged and replugged in the cart every couple of weeks if it isn't used during the winter. Not really a problem here in Georgia.
