Default Rear seat backing?

I recently bought a 2008 club car precedent and today I discovered lots of wood rot in the upper and lower rear seat back boards. I had planned to just do an outline of the seat back and cut new ones with a jig saw. But the upper and lower are so rotten and full of moisture and mold, that I can’t use them for a pattern. I also realized that the screws securing the seats have built in nutsert type fasteners that I couldn’t really replicate on my own. I’ve tried to search for new seat backs, but all I get in results is back seats, with new upholstery and cushions. Is there anywhere to buy just the seatbacks that fit my precedent back seats?

Not really sure what brand the back seat is, but it is steel and fold down

You should find the brand and go from there.

Search "HDPE Panel" (High Density Polyethylene) from the big box home stores. Yes it's more expensive than conventional plywood, but NEVER rots. Also I've done several where I used lag screws into the material and eliminated the need for the insert nuts all together, or you can mark out your holes after the seat material is put together and use the inserts that install from the outside (rather that the inside like many had originally).

Great suggestion. I found some on amazon. What thickness would you recommend and can it be stapled? Thank you

t-nut or tee nuts from home depot or lowes are what your looking for
$1.18 for a 4 pack of 1/4" t nuts at home depot
drill a hole and hammer in from the cushion side
the plywood will be about 1/4" smaller than the frame
marine grade plywood is best but hard to find, exterior grade from home depot will last for years

Perfect. That seems like the cheapest option. And our cart is now stored in the garage, so I won’t have to worry about wood rot anymore.
