Question Customer cart 03

I've read the threads about the governor and the tie wraps and such. Is there any more cheap upgrades that can be done without destroying the engine? How about something that will keep it from going into coast mode while driving.

Why would you not like coast mode?

Key start will do it.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean by "coast mode"? Are you talking about the governor reducing engine speed as the cart reaches it's road speed? Or the RPM limiter interrupting spark as the engine RPM's exceed the designed in limits? Or are you talking about a lack of engine braking?

I'm not sure what it is! Gas are not my thing but it's a friends cart so I told him I would look at it. I've fixed his radio and waiting on the Voltage reducer. He asked if I could do anything about this problem but I don't want to mess it up being not mine.

When your driving it wide open and it just stops pulling like it coasting it's running but not pulling, going down hills is more noticeable.

I thought you meant the motor cutting off when you take your foot off the pedal.

It's 12 volt. What voltage reducer?

Sorry not reducer, regulator.

I was working on my 72 volt cart and wired up the lights to a reducer right before I came inside and posted. Sorry!

It’s hitting the rev limiter. It’s “coasting” because it’s killing the spark. Engine is spinning too fast.

Either the governor is adjusted wrong or there’s already a zip tie on the governor cable spring that’s too tight and it’s forcing it to run wide open. That needs to be addressed or the engines gonna blow up.
