Well learned the reason for lose of power was due to the top of the head gasket was leaking but I’ve cleaned it again both motor and head and it still won’t seal of correctly any advice

Is there any damage to the mating surfaces? What's the condition of the head gasket? Lay a straight edge across both mating surfaces and find out if either are warped. If the cylinder head (top part) is the issue I may have a few extras in my basement.

Use some rtv gasket maker. Always works for me when I can’t get anything sealed properly. Just be careful with it. Make sure none gets in the engine

You talking about the rivets that hold the plastic cam gear on? If so, they should be solid. If they're not, you can take them out and replace them with bolts. Did that with one of my motors.

Original setup is on the left, bolted fix is on the right. Be sure to use NYLOCK nuts and use as short of bolts as you can (to make sure you don't have any clearance issues). To get the old rivets out you just drill them.

So that little metal plate is not needed on there on like the original one?
