Default Trying to solve my EZGO problem

I have a mid 80's ezgo 2-stroke. I have pwr going to the starter solenoids and when I push on the gas pedal the small prong gets pwr but no pwr going to the starter/generator. It is a brand new solenoid I think the micro censor works fine, I also took the lead from starter/generator straight to the + side of the battery and nothing happened. I don't know where to go from here, can any one help me out? Thank you.

You have power going to the small post, do you have a good ground on the other small post?
Can you hear the solenoid "clicking" when you push the gas pedal?

yes but i just got some info on the starter solenoids I just got from napa and they gave me one for a 24v system so I have to go back and get the right one and try it out. do you know if a solenoid for a lawn tractor will work even though its not the same size as the one I took off. Thank you for your reply and I will check back when I switch them out.

No, a lawn tractor solenoid or even automotive solenoid will not work.
It needs to be replaced with a continious duty type found in carts.

Try a test before you replace it.
Remove both small post wires from it, put a jumper wire from the pos battery to one of the small post and a jumper from the neg battery to the other small post. doesn't matter which one.
Do you here it click?

my solonoid went bad on my 86 , bought one from tractor supply for a ford farn tractor , lasted 4 days , bought one from napa for a ford truck , lasted a week , got the extra haevy duty one from napa , lasted about 10 days , gave up and got one from the hi priced ezgo dealer here , 4 months and counting , seems that in the case of cart electrical parts you get what you pay for

I put the right solonoid on and can here it working. Now the micro switch is shorting out and giving the throttle cable 10V and starts smoking so I took it off now I need to find one of those. Befor I took it off I did have 12V going to the starter/generator but nothing was happening and thank you again
