Default Rear End Noise

Hello All!,

I have a gas 2012 Club Car. Another golfer was riding with me and said it sounds like I have a rear end noise and it needs greased. So my question is, where do you grease the rear end and what kind of grease do you use?

Thanks for any help!

If it was squeaking, you may want to check the bushings. There will be some in the rear leaf springs, 2 per side.

When you say check the bushings, do you have to take the wheels off? Is that just a greasing there?

The bushings are what provide a flexible attachment point of the leaf springs to the chassis. No greasing, just replacement. You can see the rear bushings just looking under the cart, the front bushings may be easier to see by jacking up and removing the rear wheels.

See the attached photo, the bushings are installed on the thru bolt. Amazon sells replacements. There may also be some on the front.

This is what a typical bushing kit looks like.

What does the noise sound like? A worn bushing is not serious, a noisy rear end is.

All he said was it sounds noisy. I've been driving it all year, so it obviously wasn't noticeable to me and it still really isn't.

Like I said, he thought the rear end just needed greased, but I didn't know you could grease the rear end. The two grease points for the front are full.

The rear end does not take grease, it takes gear oil. There are no "grease points."
