CC DS 1999 is SLOW
Hey gang! I am new to the group and new to carts. I bought a 1999 CC DS as a project car that I will "gift" to my son to putt-putt around the neighborhood this Christmas. I am putting some "lipstick" on it and a rear seat to spruce it up a bit. However, the cart struggles to get to 10 MPH.
I have read a bunch of posts to get an understanding before I attempt to get some help. This is what I know about the cart. 1999 DS F/R rocker switch \__Regen Speed Senor hat / 4-12V batteries dated 6/19 Lift kit with 20"-ish tires Controller looks like a silver stock item It has a V-glide unit I used a speed app and found that this cart max'ed out at 10 MPH on flat surface. After some reading, I disabled the speed sensor in hopes to increase top speed. Nothing changed. After a few mins of running the cart, I opened the back access panel and felt some serious heat coming on the driver side solenoid. I plan to bypass the solenoid tomorrow morning. Before you all start throwing out amps/volts/stack voltages....I am not well versed in the electrical world....so be gentle and patient. My goal is not to hit 30 MPH...yet, but rather 15+mph if possible. I am not ready to go upgrade everything yet. I just do not want my son to be embarrassed when he hit the pedal the 1st time. lol Thanks in advance for any and all help! |

Re: CC DS 1999 is SLOW
Connect both driver's side cables to one side of the driver's side solenoid.

Re: CC DS 1999 is SLOW
I have bypassed the bad solenoid. I was able to pick up 2-3 MPH. Max’ed our at 13 MPH.
I’d like to try an squeeze out more MPH. Do y’all think that is possible? I’ve attached a pic of the V-Glide. Should I replace it? The arm’s range sweeps across all the contacts. Is it worth a change? Well I can’t figure out how to attach a pic🙄 |

You don't have enough posts to put up a pic yet (I think you may need 10?).

Re: CC DS 1999 is SLOW
Anyone have any ideas to get a few mph without full upgrades?

Did you unhook the speed sensor on the end of the motor.
