1992 2 stroke

Hello,
I have been lurking here for a while and have a few questions that I hope that you could help me with. First of all I bought my wife a 1992 cart that has a 2 cycle engine with a 6" lift, 25" tall tires, lights, radio, roof, brush guard and a nice seat. It runs pretty good, all that I have done is put in a new plug and changed all the fuel lines in it. The previous owner did all the work to it and rewired the the rats nest that it had when he bought it. He also has the carb rebuilt just before I got it. I know about ATV's I am just new to the cart scene but am really liking it, and my daughter loves it since she can now go with me for rides at night around the neighbor hood.

First I have been reading about putting a shorter belt on it to help with the low end. The belt that it has on it is a DAYCO 27077-GO2, is this the original size for this cart or is it already shorter. If I were to go shorter what belt would I get and were would I get it?

Second what engine do I have? I know that it is oil injected ( and if you could tell me what kind of oil to get for it that would be great), I have the model and serial number from the sticker on the side of it.

Any help on it would be great, I don't even know what model the cart is. It is fun to drive but does not like to climb long hills if you don't get a running start and stay in it. The only real problem that I have is the steering is a little sloppy, I pulled the column off and the gears look good and the front looks good and tight but there is 3" to 4" of play in the wheel, is this because of the lift?

You have the correct stock belt on it, the only belt I know of that is shorter is one for a yamaha. I'm not sure how much that would help you, never tried any of them with 2 stroke carts. I can say your really pushing the limits of the 3pg engine running 25" tires. it takes lots of power to turn big tires fast.
Can't really say much about oil for the 2 strokes, the only time I use any of it is to run my weedeater and I don't even know what brand I use in it.
on the steering, you could check you tie rod ends and spindle bushing, these will add play in the setup if wore out.

I do want to put a little smaller tire on it in the future, I have only had it for about a month and have about 20 miles on it. Do you have a part number for the yamaha belt so that I could try that. Thanks for the help.

no, I don't have that part number, maybe someone that has done that will chime in.

Well I order a new belt that is a little shorter. Now if any one could tell me what kind of 2 cycle oil to use, and what engine I have That would be great. Thanks for the help.
