Mods Required to install New OEM Flares on Older Frontend
I purchased a set of new OEM Front Fender Flares to install on my 98 ST-350.
It appears that the Flange that the old flares attached to is not needed due to a design change in the flare. Can anyone confirm that the flanges can be removed or the flares can be installed over top of the flange. I would prefer to cut the flange off because they were damaged when the original flares were torn off... Thanks, Mike |

Top Picture: Flare is the Old Style with an Angled Flange and the Rivets install at an angle.
Bottom Picture: New Flare has an added Vertical Flange and Rivets install Horizontal. I will admit I haven't studied it too close but I believe the flange on the body can be removed and horizontal holes drilled to attach. The LH side flange is cracked and part of the RH side is missing. Thanks for looking |

Looks like it could be just installed over the exsisting flange.
Do some test fitting and let us know what you come up with......... |

looks like you could go over the old flange and drill it in.

On the new ones the flange on the flare goes behind the cowl and the cowl has no flange. I'm not sure which one would be best to cut, kinda seems like you could do it either way.
