Default 2001.5 Engine won't start

My cart was running fine all weekend and then it started acting like I had run out of gas. I checked and tank was half full. I then replaced all of the fuel lines including the vacum line. I then checked the pickup line in the tank to make sure it was not blocked. I took the fuel line off of the carb and tried to start and a little fuel spilled out of the hose. Then I took the vacum line off the pump and checked the vacum, there was a little vacum and another person checked and said that should be enough to work the fuel pump.

Should I focus on the fuel pump and maybe take it apart and check or is there something else I should be looking at?

Does it run if ya choke it? Check the valve clearance.

No it wouldn't run if i choked it. I did have it running a little after we pulled the line off of the carb and pump it. But then it would just die again like it wasn't getting fuel.

Check your valves for clearance.

sounds like the pump is not functioning properly. cheap to replace and I concur with the valve check.

I got it running again.

I adjusted the valves and still no start. I then took the fuel pump off and disassembled it and then cleaned it. reinstalled it and after a second of choking the cart, it started right up.

Thanks for the advice, the cart runs better now than before.
