73 Cushman Golfster needs some power
I just found a 73 Cushman Golfster 36V in great shape, runs great, looks OK, I bought a charger for it so mechanically and electrically it is good. has lights, horn, mirrors, all the legal stuff. I am going to donate it to a church in my neighborhood but the cart is a bit slow and underpowered. It is a 4 seater and kinda jumps when the pedal is pushed instead of easing into gear. I know it is old but it is built like a tank and would work well for them. Question: Is there a way that won't cost a fortune to replace this motor or modify this cart to give it some more power and possibly speed. It goes around 12-15MPH with me in it, probably much slower with 4 people. This church really needs a cart as they have a large campus and I would like to give back but I don't have a lot of funds but would like to give them something good. The batteries are new, brakes, steering are good, I'm going to paint it for them, just need to know my options for making it usable for them by giving it some more power. I have never done anything like this and would like anyone's ideas. Thanks, Billyzack, Peoria, Az
