Well I drove up to take a look (300 miles round trip pulling a trailer) and it didn't meet my expectations. the front nose needed painting, the brush guard look like charcoal and the seat arms white from the sun. All thought the sheet metal body and decals were perfect without a scratch. I guess the real deal breaker was I couldn't get it to run right. Any thing over half throttle it ran smooth but wouldn't hold at slower speed without repeatedly pushing the pedal. Also it didn't have an hour meter, so who knows.... Still on the hunt... SB

I would guess no one has adjusted the gov. on it and maybe some trash in the carb. doesn't look like there's many hours on it and i'd bet those are the tires that came on it new. Even if the cowl was perfect i'd still want to paint it, Jacobsen sure knows how to make them look ugly.
when I got mine it wouldn't run any better than any of the other ones I had, matter of fact I believe it was slower cause how the gov. was always stepping in to control the speed. after I adjusted the gov and alittle seafoam in the gas it was going 29.8 mph on the gps and would spin it's little tires.

I don't know... I guess I'm just fussy not to mention being lazy, I think it was carb trouble, I only ran it in neutral, didn't even drive it, so don't know about it being a clutch problem, it was blocked in their shop from working on an overhead door with a hi-lo.

I think it would have been a good project but I'm getting to old for projects and just want one I can lift a little and put wheels on. I did like the Jake orange'ish red though, reminds me of a 55 chevy I used to have.
