How to I tighten Rack ball Joint?
So I did the bellows replacement (Nightmare) and now I just need to tighten the Rack Ball Joint. It keeps spinning and I don't see anywhere up top to put a wrench on.
Just a tip: grease all the other fittings AFTER the bellows replacement, NOT before. |

Re: How to I tighten Rack ball Joint?
there is no place to put a wrench on it. normally the taper fit grabs enough to create friction to allow you to install the nut. sometime you may need to put pressure on it or put it in a bind to tighten the nut. i'd try cutting the wheel to one side and holding pressure on it when turning the nut.

I used a tap and die set and chased both the nut and stud this helped quite a bit. Basically debur the parts. Good Luck!
