Full power in Reverse but very little going forward??
Hey guys,
I finally did the HEI and ignition coil conversion and so far i have consistent spark. So the cart starts right up with no problems other then the occasional backfire. Now there is a new problem. It drives great in reverse but has very little power going forward. I'm not exactly sure where to start on this one. |

Typically that is a timing issue. I am a bit new at these myself, but do a search on how to adjust the timing.

Is this a 2-stroke engine? If so, has the top end been rebuilt recently? If not, do a compression test in both forward and reverse and report back.

Re: Full power in Reverse but very little going forward??
Did this problem start when you did the HEI conversion? If so, did you switch the locations of the wires from the pulsar to the HEI? The diagram says Blue to W and Red to G. Many have reported that switching them results in much better performance, I switched them from the get-go and never tried the original way the diagram says. It's worth a try.
