Serial number on engine.
I didn't find a Serial number on my back bumper like it should be, but it is located on the engine itself. Is this normal?? or does it mean I've got a special rare one? lol After looking up the number it appears to be an 83' model.
Thanks! |

Re: Serial number on engine.
Originally, when built the chassis serial number and engine number matched. Now, 25 years later many buggies have had their engines replaced at some time in their life. What you have is not unusual. The chassis number may be hidden under rust or have been removed during repairs. Check carefully on the rear frame directly behind the rear wheels, looking forward from the rear of the buggy. Check both left and right sides. Also check on the top of the frame between the rear shock upper mounts, very early buggies had it stamped there.

Re: Serial number on engine.
I had some G1 that is was near the top rear shock mounts, facing the rear, so you had to climb in under the hood to see it, and it was painted over very hard to see stamped into frame. Those were early to mid 80s carts.
