Re: Still on the hunt
Sweeeet Jackel! G9 was my first cart and now my buddies first cart. I think they are stout little machines! And, if you get it going with the stock engine, you just saved yourself at least $1500, which now you can apply towards your lift and tires and stereo and rear seat and springs and paint and repairing the seat and, oh you get my drift!! Now we need to see 'before' pics!

Re: Still on the hunt
thanks mike. ive got one more to do. i just got myself a 20hp kohler engine to put in the last G9 im going to do. this one might take me a while. i want to disassemble the engine and rebuild everything. i like the regular engine but i wanted one with a little more hill climbing power and when i found this engine cheap things just clicked in my head why not.

Re: Still on the hunt
Ok guys I got to mess with it a little bit.I put Kroil oil in the cylinder.I managed to get it free and to rotate.I think it is hurt internally though.she turns over hard and then at a certain point while turning over the motor it will get stiff and the kick over like an engine going past TDC on the compression. Stroke.this is with the plug out and turning it over with a breaker bar.she is tight and the starter would never crank it.the oil is full and looks clean. Not sure why it locked up yet.I did notice there looks to be a few covers missing maybe..there was grass clippings around the fan so maybe she got hot.
I guess I will have to pull the motor out and see what's trashed on the inside. |

Re: Still on the hunt
Its got 22s on it in the last picture with my little girl on it but its to much for it i think. when i had 20s on it had all kinds of power for them and now it dosent climb hills as fast and im not talking about little hills im talking about ones that make you think your coming over backwards on the trails we ride. i bored it out .50 over and i put Don Plowmans clutch kit on and thats all ive done. the lift kit that i put on is just the cheap economy lift kit. i have abused this thing to no end and for a cheap lift kit ive not had any problems. the color of mine i dont know. i do know its dupont with metal flake in it. the company i work for has the big dump truck bodies painted by a different company and they had to get an extra gallon to finish the job and the paint was over $500 a gallon and they only used a quart out of it, i told them that if we were paying for it that we needed it back at our company for that price. If you

I lost my dad back in 05',but he got to spend 5 yrs with his grandkids before he went to heaven. My support group is alot of Coke in the fridge I like how that red cart looks.you said its an econo lift so is it 4" or 6"?Are the wheels offset any? I was thinking of buying the 6" dual a arm lift for mine in the future.Looks like I will be going the clone route so I should be ok on power with 22" tires i imagine. |
