Dave you the man.::
I set the timing back to where it was factory set, put the key back on the crank hooked the flywheel back up and covered it.
I check every wire I messed with on the HEI conversion. On one post I read they hooked power to the coil + and then to the hei. After looking at a diagram of the wiring it showed green to coil + and the yellow to the hei. I clipped the power, from the coil to hei, and wired it to the yellow and hei.
Da#!it starts fine, forward and reverse, and runs .
I test drove it about 15 min and it motors at about 15 mph.
I can't thank everyone enough on this post that made a suggestion to help, they are all helpful hints.
I will gather all my info and post my rebuild does and dont's on another thread, maybe it will help someone avoid mistakes in the rebuild process.
Da#! one little wire .
Thanks Dave, Scooter, Brew, Racin, Madoc

GREAT !!!! Just an afternote, but if you find you are getting hesitations or choppy running with the HEI, reversing the blue and red pulsar wires often fixes it right up - you should be getting a little closer to 18mph if your governor is disconnected, that's why I mentioned it ...

(My little 88 2PG with 22's hit 23mph on the GPS yesterday after a carb cleaning, WOO HOOO !!!)
