1989 ez go help
Hey guys I just recently got this 1989 cart. Someone stole the coil off of the cart and it is also missing the intake tube and air filter canister. I got a coil, wire, plug, and air filter but I need the rest of the parts. If anyone knows where I can get these parts or if you maybe have something sitting around I will buy them off you. Here is. Pic of what I got. I also got all new cables. Also, does anyone have a wiring diagram for this cart? The previous owner was a bit of a hack. let me know.

That's a great manual and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. Now I just need my intake parts. Anyone have something laying around?

If all else fails you can go to the K&N website and build one to your exact requirements, no need for the canister. http://www.knfilters.com/search/universal.aspx

I figured I might do something like that. I bought an air filter I might just make a top for it and not use a canister. I can prob figure it out. I'm going to spend this weekend fixing this guys hack job.

Re: 1989 ez go help
I spent the weekend going thru things on the cart. I hooked all the wiring up per the diagram. However when I hook the battery up all it does is buzz. You guys know any reason for this? My next step is to go thru the switches and make sure everything looks good. What do you guys think?

Re: 1989 ez go help
you definitely should test at a minimum the accel limit switch and the keyswitch - if your wiring is correct those are the two culprits that can hold up the entire electrical chain RE starting (then, once you know they are working correctly, we start with the solenoid and progress from there)
By buzzing do you mean like a backup alarm buzzer or something else? I ask because you may have some corrosion in the forward/reverse switch assembly (quite common) - get some good electronic contact cleaner from NAPA and spray the heck out of it inside and out while shifting from forward to reverse, that will often be enough to get the contacts working right again (don't be shy with the spray) - worse case, if your reverse alarm buzzer is stuck (which will drive you nuts) you can trace the wire to it and just yank it - most people do |

It is the reverse buzzer going off. It's been sitting so its might just need cleaned.

Re: 1989 ez go help
yeah, although in addition to the cleaning you'll probably want to clip or unplug the buzzer anyhow as the microswitch that controls it is sealed and won't be affected (more than likely) by the cleaning, not to mention it's a solid six-pack job to get the assembly apart and replace it :)

Re: 1989 ez go help
I was really hoping for some good results after going thru things. I guess I need to put in a little more elbow grease before she goes lol. I got the lift wheels tires wrap and all new cables ready to go on.
