i think that the reverse is a different gear set right? .... i was thinking that but i feel like somethings different

That is a possibility reverse is lower the forward in most cases and there is huge debate about whether or not the rear end will last long that way. I'm just trying to give option in the end it isn't up to me what is decided. But what ever is decided I wish the best and keep us posted!

id sell the kawasaki myself,then get a rear end that the clutch on it runs front to back..try to get it complete with brake cables if poss to save time and cash.
then get a cheap clone or honda and you will still have reverse

I am installing a kawasaki engine in a 1996 txt the thing i have found out so far is I am going to run the shifter and cable out of the rxv and the throttle cable will have to be modified not sure how I am going to do that yet every thing else will hook up I am also runing the rxv rear end Hope this helps

I am installing a kawasaki engine in a 1996 txt but I am using the motor and rear end from the txt what I know so far is that the shifter will have to be changed to the rxv and throttle cable will have to be modified not sure how I am going to do that yet the brake cables will work and motor mount will work Hope this helps and if any one has any ideas on the throttle cable please let me know Thanks

Mikesmotortoys has done this. He swapped the whole carriage, rear end and all into a standard TXT. He would be the one to contact to ask.

Keep us posted.

For clarification, just a few questions.

Are you running the RXV or TXT rear?
How about the cradle?
What motor was in the TXT originally?
