He had said all these problems that I would have with it so I had decided in my opinion to ask the true experts! The people on this site! Yes, kinda felt he wanted me to buy an ezgo. I'm sticking with my yamaha! Right now the power is good for me just need to get the governor off. Also whats this torque spring a harder spring for the clutch? Where's the best place to buy the correct one?

Torque spring is in the secondary clutch. You can see it if you look at the pulley on the transmission. There is a HD spring made for that spring. Allows the motor to wind up higher for a given speed, so you have more power in the lower speed ranges. But you still keep the same top speed/MPH, at top speed, so all good!

I did a picture/wright up in the G8 club thread, somewhere around page 457 in that thread. You can go there and see whats involved if you like.

I did the Pachanga style lift. Now I have a front hitch too. I put 24" tires on it with the CPP torque spring and performance jet. No other mods. It will spin the 24"s on anything but asphalt and it will pull a car trailer 20' long that had our '99 3/4 ton suburban on it up the 5% hill I live on.

I am new to the site. Have a 1988 G2 that I want to lift. I have gone to the cartsplus.com website referenced above and it does not list anything for my cart. Any ideas of other places to get a good lift? Any idea if a 4" vs. 6" vs. any other is the best thing to have for the 88 G2?

I greatly appreciate any input. Thanks all. I will wait for a reply. Hoping to get it started within the next few weeks but want to know the best place to get parts.

I also need to either have the seats reupholstered or buy new ones? any ideas whichi s a better option or where I can get replacements?

Thanks a million guys!!!!

Wow, OP thanks for reminding me. I got my G9 in '99 and lifted it, I welded it up. Bought the cart from a dealer it was a golf course trade in, some friends did a group buy and got a deal. Not long after that I got new kingpins because they were a little loose. So anyway the last couple years the engine has less power its tired I can smell the oil. Took it out a couple weeks ago and welded in a mount for a clone engine, I'm waiting for more parts for it. So anyway, I suppose I should grease up the front wheel bearings for the first time and put in those kingpins, replace the trans fluid again right......since its 2012. We ran a lot of trails for years, some weekends we went 6 hours a day. I wonder why the wheels have not fallen off it like the ezgo guy says. Took the governor off the day I got it, it would do 30gps on pavement.

There are very minor differences in G2 and G9s. G9 will be 91 and later usually, iirc mine is a 91.
