Speaker Depth Question for EZGO MP3 Kit
I just purchased a 94 Medalist and was wondering if anybody who has installed one of the kits in the "link" (sorry, the forum wouldn't allow me to put a real link due to me just joining) below could give me an idea on what the speaker mounting depth is for the included 5" speakers.
shopezgo.com/products/MP3-Amplifier-and-Speaker-Kit I would like to get nicer speakers(Don't necessarily know the quality of the included speakers) and mount them under the cupholders as shown in one of the pics in the above link, but I don't know what would fit. That installation looks real clean. It looks like any speaker might be a pretty tight fit there without modifying the cupholders. Thanks in advance for any input, Kevin |

Re: Speaker Depth Question for EZGO MP3 Kit
I think about the biggest you can get in there is a 5 inch without modifying the cup holder. Also, IMPO, I have seen that EZ-Go kit and it isn't worth the money. The amp is junk and no volume control. Try looking to the sponsors or do a Google search. I know Pyle makes one and that is what I would try if it were me. 2X100 Amp alone with volume controls runs around $50

Re: Speaker Depth Question for EZGO MP3 Kit
If you have the cash to spend, the speaker enclosures that mount under the glove boxes are a must-have! I still say that was the best $75 I ever spent on the cart. I have cheap stock speakers from a clunker I scrapped long ago and they sound GREAT! I cannot recommend them highly enough!
A cheap automotive head unit with an auxilliary jack will take care of your amplification and volume control needs. This is my setup... |
