Default 32 MPH Yamaha gas g29!!

Just replaced the stock 11.4:1 gears with 8:1. Bypassed the governor connecting the throttle cable directly to the throttle. And wallah! Magic! Clocked myself At 32 mph! I have 20" diameter tires. With 10" rims.

I have 20" diameter tires that helps as well. U probably have the stock 18.5 diameter tires. I was running 18 mph with the governor. W/out it I was @ 24mph. But the motor was screaming!! So I bought the 8:1 gears from eBay for $180. Put them in. Bypassed the governor all together. Yes if u run wide *** open for a long time and continuously u can and will either blow ur motor or blow a gasket seal and leak oil everywhere. I can run 28 mph all day with out running wide open.

Also here's a formula to find the max speed on a golf cart
(Radius of tire x rpm )divided by (final gear x 16

For instance my cart 10x 4500 rpm = 45000
I have 8:1 gear ratio so take 8x168= 1344
45000 divided by 1344 =33 mph. Top rpm for the g29 gas cart is just about 4500 rpm. With the governor bypassed. Stock it runs at 3500rpm. Good luck

That is "on paper" and theoretical speed only. Consider weight, drag, wind resistance, etc, multiply that by 80%. That's your speed, more or less. Unless you have 50 hps, then you are correct. Since you only have same horsepower (about 13), there is no way you can get the theoretical speed.

Actually it is correct. GPS im running 32 mph. With my calculations in the formula it gives me 33 mph. So being off by 1 mph .. That's not 80%. U obviously don't know what ur talking about and maybe u should keep ur two cents to urself since ur wrong.

23" tires would give u and extra couple mph. Not a considerable amount of difference. But it would help.
