Notice lately my battery isn't holding a very long charge anymore. The cart is an 09 model with the original battey. It's a sealed battey meankng it doesn't have the strips that you pull off to add water etc. any particur brand do you guys suggest or just use a regular sealed car battery from auto parts store??

any kind of car battery will work I have a battery out of my old pickup and I leave the cart sitting for hours playing music while doing yard work or drinking a couple beers by the fire all night with led lights on too and my cart always fires right up when I get back on

I bought a marine battery it has posts and the studs/nuts for cable ends. Its really handy to wire accessories to it. Its a starting battery not a deep cycle. It was not much more than a normal battery like $8 more and had more CCA, was larger. Before that I ran 3 different truck batteries. I had a friend his work truck would start slow in the winter so he would get a new battery. I got them from him each one ran fine in my cart for 3 years each or something. When I dropped the clone engine in the battery was toast finally I said ok I'll get a new one.

Good battery should run a radio for a long time. If you have amplifiers then that might be a different story.

Yeah the battey with the top post and side post would help me alot. Right now I'm running the headlights, radio, under glow neon lights, and soon to be a winch. Getting cluttered run ing all these accessories on one post. I did order one of these fused distribution blocks from a marine boating store so that each accessory will have its on fuse.

When it comes to batteries, I'm a big believer in getting the largest capacity that you can fit in, and can afford. There's no such thing as "too much" battery, and if you run a lot of "stuff", it'll handle it better.

I ran my cart on a $30 jumper pack before I bought the battery, because it was fall and was only going to run it a short time why let a new battery sit all winter I figured. Just shows how much power you need to run the cart, I don't use my lights that much but they are 55w driving lights. Dropped in the new battery in spring.

I agree, a larger battery last longer and runs more stuff longer, less hassle, they are a good deal. This is only a 650cca or something (whatever the smaller marine battery is I'll look next time I ride), not huge but considering my use its huge for this cart with only lights I rarely use. I have jumped cars and lawnmowers off it so the least I would put in it is a normal size car battery.

Lol, and I have some LED to put on my cart to save power. Figure I can use those on local rides in dark which is usually what I'm doing, short distance and low speeds.
