Re: Txt series problem
Do I need the whole switch or can I just get the HD cams?

Re: Txt series problem
I would assume whatever wear, pitting, etc. would be the same on both halves. It is 12 years old, afterall.
The cam is the rotating part, while the rest is where the cable connections are, and loose or corroded connections may have damaged the non-cam part. FWIW, When I upgraded my cart, I just did the cam, as the rest "looked" OK. However the rest of the FNR overheated and I ended up replacing that as well. Granted, I am running a 500 amp controller, but most of us push our carts harder than they were designed to be run. |

Re: Txt series problem
This is a common question. There are 8 contacts in the rotary switch. 4 are in the stationary housing. These are the 4 studs you connect the cables to on the back side. The cam holds the other 4 contacts and the buss bars.
The switch cam upgrades a good switch but it won't fix a failed or intermittent switch. The rotary housing is a plastic type material. When the studs get hot they soften the plastic around them and sink in like branding irons. Once they sink even a few thousandths of an inch contact with the rotating contacts is compromised. At this point a complete replacement is needed. Our HD Ezgo F&R (#EZ575) has our custom buss bars installed. |
