Quick Question about Oil Gauge
Sometime this week I am planning on picking up an oil pressure gauge from somewhere. I was just wondering about how people have ran the plastic or copper line up to the dash area, without it being in a "hazardous" area under the cart where it may be ripped off, or dented, etc?
Thanks :) |

Re: Quick Question about Oil Gauge
You may be able to use a couple pieces of rigid pipe or tuning to run it through and just tuck those between the rails.

Re: Quick Question about Oil Gauge
You could use an electronic gauge instead of a mechanical one.

Re: Quick Question about Oil Gauge
For a mechanical gauge, get a length of vacuum or fuel line hose and slip it over the tubing before you put the fittings on it. Also don't use that plastic hose, it is garbage! I would find a way to run the line through the frame or at least don't have it on the bottom of the cart. You may be able to lift the floor mat and lay it underneath at the outside edge. I say this, as to install an electrical gauge, you will have to protect the wire in the same manner!

Re: Quick Question about Oil Gauge
Thank you for the replays everyone. I think I will either use some type of tubing if I go with a mechanical. I've always liked the looks of mechanical gauges over electronic, but maybe they have some better ones now.
Also as far as inside the frame, I wanted run my wires through there as well but you would have to drill about a 3/8" - 1/2" hole into the square tubing. And I'm sure it would take away structural integrity, but I wonder how much? |
