marathon steering upgrade
I'm new to this cart thing. Have a 89 marathon with loose steering. This seems to be inherent with the marathon and the old style steering box. Before I order the parts to rebuild it I was wondering if it was possible or feasible to upgrade to a little newer style which uses the worm gear. Did not know if anyone ventured this way.

Have you checked all tie rod end for excessive play? Also check the front wheel bearings to see if the are loose first. That's where I would start.

Re: marathon steering upgrade
thanks for the info did check front suspension and all is good. play is in the box. I don't mind rebuilding the box just thought I would see if their were any type upgrade to this steering box. Never had one so I do not know what one will feel like new or rebuilt compared to the newer ones.
