08 ezgo PDS complete stock
My cart quit moving when hitting the go pedal. You could here the motor running but no movement. I pulled the motor to have rebuilt and they wanted $800. they did say it was shot. I ordered a brand new one and its doing the same thing. Is it the rear end? with the motor pulled you could roll the cart and see the spline gear moving. What is it?

Re: 08 ezgo PDS complete stock
You probably have a stripped brake hub. Jack the cart up and put it on stands. Remove the rear wheels and hold the brake pedal down while you hit the go pedal. You will probably see one of the castle nuts turning with the brake hub not. That is the one that is bad.

Re: 08 ezgo PDS complete stock
Ok it's a spun hub like y'all said. What all do I need to buy? Just the axle hub or are there any special like parts I need to get also? Thx again for all y'all's help guys.

Re: 08 ezgo PDS complete stock
Well, first you need to disassemble the affected hub:
Jack up the affected side and take off the wheel Remove the dust cover, if installed Remove the nut retaining the axle. Its a tuffie, but it has to come off remove the brake hub. Make sure and release the parking brake or it wont come off Examine the inside of the hub. It should have splines, but I bet it doesn't. I bet it is worn smooth. If so, It needs to be replaced. Now examine the axle shaft to make sure it has splines. If it is worn, it needs to be replaced as well. Repeat for the other side. |

And order a heavy duty replacement instead of factory unless you already have one. Check the sponsors.

Re: 08 ezgo PDS complete stock
What do the splines inside the hubs look like. The hubs usually strip before the axle does.
