Default Re: HELP!!!! Ezgo gear change

This is very interesting to me. I've done a few of these gear changes now and never even considedered that I should mic the tolerances. I've always just pressed off the old and pressed on the new. With that being said, I've also never had an issue with the gear slipping. Pretty sure that no matter where you bought the gears, they probably came from Apache Gear. Never had an issue with anything iI've gotten from them but there is always the exception.

Default Re: HELP!!!! Ezgo gear change

The machine shop was able to pin my new gear!!! Thank goodness... Peace of Mind now.

So together it went, my brand new 10:1 gear set all installed and closing up the diff cover. Then I realize that I forgot to put the o-rings on the new intermediate shaft. ****.... it comes apart including the brand new freeze plugs that I had just tapped in. Only bought one spare plug, so now I have to source another. Great..... 3 bucks for the part and probably another 10 for postage.

Oh well... That's what I get for being stupid and not triple checking my work. I'll go ahead and reinstall the transaxle tomorrow so I can get started on the rear disc brakes and finally get the cart off of the jack stands.
