driven clutch woes
Got to noticing that the spring seat ramps have grooves cut into them. Been wondering how that affects the performance on the cart. Well...rode to a buddies place today and about 3/4 of the way there, about 3 miles, cart started sounding funny. Got off and lifted the seat and the new plowmans belt that G1-G9 put on it was shredded.
Like I said, I'm new to gas and this cart is a learning experience. Any suggestions what happened or if the driven caused this is appreciated. |

Re: driven clutch woes
Yes, the grooves prevent the clutch from shifting smoothly
and can shred a belt due to heat and miss alignment. The sheaves open and close in sync and when the driven lags it pulls the belt out of alignment. |

Re: driven clutch woes
Ouch... Looks like the sheevs werent opening properly causing the belt to get wedged and pinched..expensive.. New belt and new clutch gonna set you back some coinage

Re: driven clutch woes
Chris--I've got a real decent set of sheaves from the G16--if you want them, they're yours. When I broke the input shaft, I replaced everything except the helix.

Re: driven clutch woes
That would be great Dave.
I don't believe it's my primary clutch where the problem lies dbmachine, it's my driven clutch that's acting up. |
