Rear end ID and bearing help 81 (?)
The tag indicates I have an 81 Marathon but I had to purchase brakes for an 82. I was told they likely changed the rear end out to a later model. When I installed the brakes I discovered a lot of play in one of the axle bearings so need to replace them. It is a spicer rear end (I will try to post pictures). Couple questions:
-Can I pull the hub off with a 2 jaw puller? -Can I replace the bearings without removing the rear end? -Can I replace the bearings without removing the axle? -No oil leaking from the axle, lot of play and typically would leak. Is the bearing not bathed in oil? -How can I ID the rear end? Any advise would be appreciated, I dont have a manual. Thanks, Kevin |

Re: Rear end ID and bearing help 81 (?)
According to vintage golf cart parts, they put different rear ends in the later 81 models. In the future I will purchase parts for 1982 vintage carts.
