Re: brake lights
Do you have a "standard" (just headlites and tailites) on it now?

Re: brake lights
You need to mount a switch on the brake pedal, much like the start switch on the gas pedal. I am sure someone here has posted that mod I read it but no idea where it is. Simply use that to activate brake lights. Most brake switches are on the inside touching the pedal, when the pedal moves forward to brake a tiny amount the switch trips.

Re: brake lights
You can go at it a couple different ways.
One way is to mount a momentary switch in the brake pedal itself and you step on the switch when you press the pedal to activate the brake lights. This way you don't have to worry about the lights staying on when the parking brake is activated. The other way is to mount a switch under the floor in the linkage, but you need to be aware of the parking brake and make sure the switch isn't always active when the pedal is pushed down. I did mine the first way with a $5 switch from Northern Tool. I attached a pic so you can see where I mounted the switch. |

Re: brake lights
I fitted a reed switch under the cart and a relay to cope with the power, I added and ignition circuit so that the lights went off as soon as the key was off. I have added a thread on the forum with phots

Re: brake lights
Our cart came with headlights and running lights. After doing some checking I found out they were also capable of being used for stoplights and turn signals. After looking at the options that were available on the web I decided to go in a different direction. I found a stoplight switch at NAPA Auto Parts that would be easy to use (SL330). I made a bracket out of 1/16” steel plate to mount the switch on, and then I installed it on the transaxle where the brake actuator lever is located. I used the three bolts that hold the break cable bracket on to mount it. So far it seems to be working fine.
PS: I have a 2011 YDRA W/6” Jakes spindle lift. |

I used a 3$ motor cycle brake light switch from China. It came with a spring. I just enlarged the hole in the bracket that has the two rear brake cables where the cable comes from the pedals. Then bent the end of the spring with a hook at the right length hooked it to the pedal. Took 5 min not including the wiring
