Default how to charge a golf cart unattended ?

According to the salesman, an electric golf cart must be charger at least once every 3 weeks even when not used in the winter. What I was planning to do is to plug the charger into a remote controllable electrical outlet and remotely turn on and off power to that outlet on schedule. But, according to the same salesman, that idea would not work, because EZGO requires power cord to be physically removed from the golf cart for it to reset and start charging again. Supposedly if power to the charger is lost, it does not reset the charger and would not start charging when power comes back. Is that actually the case? If it is, is there a way to charge golf cart unattended on schedule?

well for once, the salesman got it right on the money. I am going to assume that you are going to store your cart some distance from your house. One option would be to buy a DPI charger from scotty (cartsunlimited.net) which has a float charger buildin that does exactly what you need.

I am confused a bit: do these charge batteries directly bypassing the golf cart plug? each battery is being charged/maintained separately?

From what the site says they are available in 36v and 48v models?

Don't mess with "battery saver"......buy the DPI, which you can leave plugged to your cart & maintain the proper charge on your battery pack, & sell the charger that you have now to somebody to offset the cost of the DPI (which is actually a bargain anyway, considering the quality, flawless operation, & excellent customer service!). You won't be disappointed with the DPI!
