Default G16 Crank Seal Replacement

hey all. After troubleshooting everything I can think of to fix a lagging engine I've come to the determination that it must be leaky Crank Seals and I need to replace them.

Things I've done (for those that want to know)
1) replace fuel and fuel filter
2) cleaned carb fully (jets - broke it in to parts and scrubbed it up)
3) replace air filter with stock paper filter
-->this involved also checking for proper sealing, leaks in neck from airbox to carb and seals.
4) replaced throttle cables and made adjustments
5) oil change, spark plugs, transmission check and fluids.

Still the engine will lose power and bog down like its getting starved for something (air / gas etc) and then act like it will quit. Sometimes I get a nice backfire.

So after all of this I'm suspecting the crank seals; I'm pretty saavy in doing some things myself and have access to tool - but, does anyone have instructions on doing all the seals?

Thanks in advance!!!

Havent checked the vacuum but you can remove the fuel line itself and its pumping out pretty good.

Suspected the crank seals as the cart really cuts out only after its been running for a bit - when it gets warmed up. Once its warm then its basically useless.

after all i've done I've decided to seek professional help. I'm not sure the crankshaft seal replacement is something I'm comfortable doing nor is the cylinder work.

I guess I'll bite the bullet .. it's only gotta be what?? 20 hours of work + parts... UGH!

Actually, crank seals weren't too bad. Just get a cheap clutch puller and buy the Yamaha puller for the drive side. Made a huge difference!
