Default Starter/generator issue

Replaced starter/generator and now no spark. Spins over great but no spark to the plug. Related? It had good spark prior to the change.

Recheck your wiring, you may have a loose connection elsewhere that got disturbed when you pulled the generator out.Its common.

Can't find anything loose. Are there any fuses that may have blown or is there a troubleshooting process that would lead to the issue. Really strange how it started after the starter change. I did a search and another person had the same thing happen but he never posted what the fix was. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think I was sold the wrong starter. I don't know why I didn't notice this last night but this starter is turning the motor counter clockwise. I double checked and I wired it just like the old one. When I switched the two positive wires it started turning clockwise and I now have spark. My question now is will it work this way and will the generator work properly and not damage it?

D/C motors can run either direction, the 2-stroke carts run backwards for reverse,by reversing the starter-direction.I would call them to make sure that particular unit wont be damaged, but likely it will be fine.

Having a similar problem. The Starter/generator I ordered isn't exactly the same as the one I removed . What 2 wires did you switch ???

Widsdad I'm not really sure. My cart is at the coast so I can't go look but the final configuration for clockwise rotation I used the drawing in the sticky for '99 year model. It shows A2 going to ground. A1 to F1 (green wire). And the other two wires will only go one way due size. White being lager than the yellow. Be careful though. This spun it the right direction but the starter did burn up rather quickly. I'd prolly advise if it is not a direct match to send it back or you may wind up like me (buying another). Good luck.

Thx Aggie ,
I pulled out my bill to double check that they sent me what I ordered...On the bill it says "Starter Generator can be wired for either CW or CCW" ....But it doesn't include any wiring diagram or ANY info whatsoever. Rather reluctant to wire it up differently than the way it was before . Guess I will give them a call and see if they can provide more info .
I did look at the Stickies, but didn't see my 2010 Carryall with an FE350D ....
