89 ezgo gas coming out muffler

So I have gas, spark and compression. Brand new carb, fuel pump, plug, and piston and rings. Oh yeah all new gasket and seals.once and awhilebit will start run fine other times one small pop and it's just spins. Nothing changed after rebuild same problems. Hoping to find some help going crazy.

How much has it actually run after the rebuild?

Did you install the rings bevel side up, and piston with side holes facing the carburetor?

Exact same problem before, and after a rebuild would make you suspect a part that was reused.

If it wasn't already replaced, gas pouring out of the exhaust would make me think the lower diaphragm in the fuel pump was ripped.

Yup everything is in right. Has ran and ran good since the rebuild, but only when it wants to. Got a second new carb same thing. BBQed the muffler twice. Its driving me nuts

How much compression?

Full rebuild?

Or just new cylinder and piston?

Fuel pump diaphragm for sure good? I know you said it was new.

How long do you crank it before gas comes out the muffler?

Bright blue spark when you ground it?

115lbs of compression
New piston, rings, carb, fuel pump, igniter, gaskets and seals.
Yes looks like good spark many new plugs.
Not sure if I should just buy a coil.
Doesn't take long only a couple true and it's starts getting wet where the header and the muffler meet.

Sometimes it will sound like it wants to start the first time you try. Only the first time you try that day.

Only 115 on a fresh rebuild, has the engine run at all?

Not a complete rebuild just piston and rings.
