Default Clutch engage

Is the clutch suppose to engage as soon as you crank it or is it suppose to only when you give it gas??? Put a predator 301cc using factory clutch off robin 295cc 4 stroke. It engages automatically when I crank and won't idle at all

It will engage only when you give it the gas. The drive clutch won't "spin in" to engage until it's reached a high enough rpm.

Think that's the problem...there is no idle adjustment on this engine and it's at high rpm and engaging the clutch due to it. Can't I put in a stiffer spring in clutch to help that out??

We offer a stronger spring that should help. You may also want to put a spring on carb pulling throttle stop againts screw.
