Dash and ignition switch
It's the work horse 1200 and I have no idea what the key is to be turned to when I'm operation it. It has off n two more symbols. Also the red light beside them comes on when I'm driving. What is happening and is something wrong I need to fix?

Re: Dash and ignition switch
off is off, 1st position is ignition only IE driving during the day, second position is ignition + accessories IE lights, etc ... That red light is your low oil / oil pressure indicator, THAT I would be concerned about. Check your oil and make sure You are full on the dipstick.

Re: Dash and ignition switch
Ok that's kinda what I was thinking is there a better oil to use. And I've also noticed that the air box has had some holes drilled in it I assume for more air flow. Is this an ok thing or not?

Re: Dash and ignition switch
THAT kinda depends on where they were drilled, LOL - Do You have the old-style square airbox or the newer round one? With the old style, in theory they were a bit restricted but without a high-flow filter of some sort drilling holes won't get You too far.
If this is a "new to You" cart, I'd pop the $15 to grab a new filter and O-ring, do the change and start fresh ... I'm pretty religious as far as maintenance w my own carts so I run standard 30 (it gets swapped out 3-4X a year) but some people swear by synthetic and that *should* get You a longer service life, Your Call |

Re: Dash and ignition switch
I have the old square kind and they are in the bottom of it. Seams to run fine and I plan to change the fluids in it since I don't no when it was last done. It's needs a lot of work on it sit just sits unless I drive it around the yard a lil bit.

Re: Dash and ignition switch
They also could have drilled holes to let excess oil out if it was gathering there.
