Default Gas Marathon GX444 2-cycle Replacement motor

Hey y'all, Im tired of my 2-cycle engine and was looking at 22Hp 670cc v-twin engine from harbor freight. Has anyone put one of these in the cart? Or what is another option to get more speed and Hp? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

All I know for sure is that you will lose reverse, as the 2 stroke runs backwards for reverse. You may be able to find a 4 stroke marathon read end, but I don't know what other parts you would have to swap to make it all work. Go check out the big block talk section of this forum. I'm sure someone over there would have the knowledge to help out.

If you really want it to sing look for an older snowmobile engine, I know a guy that put a 440cc Polaris engine in his. He used the original starter/gen so as to spin it backwards.......Just remember, most but not all 2 cycles will run backwards, I thought about putting a 98 Ski-Doo Rotax 670 in mine but it has the rotary valve design which won't run backwards..Good Luck

Sorry for the delay in replying but I've been out of town, Yes you'd have to fab up motor mounts. The main thing in doing that is to be sure to properly line up the clutches, Good Luck
