1996 GXT - Battery Cable Length/Gauge?
Mornin' All.
Tried to search, but end up with mostly electric cart results. Does anyone know what length the battery cables should be on a gas cart? Not sure if it varies much from model to model or year to year, but wanted to check and see rather than measuring mine. Everything electrical seems to have been fiddled with, so I would rather start from scratch. Figured I would start with my main cables from battery to solenoid, solenoid to generator, and battery to ground. Also, wondering if 4 Gauge is pretty much the standard, or super overkill for these guys. Thanks! |

Re: 1996 GXT - Battery Cable Length/Gauge?
Posting back for anyone that searches in the future...
12" cables worked fine for the ground side and from the positive to the solenoid. I used 4 gauge switch to starter cables from NAPA. You could go a little longer if you needed the room. 18" works fine from the solenoid to the starter/gen, I had a 24" leftover from a mower project so on it went. |
