Default Rear coil springs 88 Marathon

Hello all!

I recently purchased a 88 marathon gas and have begun fixing it up. The rear suspension is completely bottomed out and it seems the coils springs have just become compressed. I am not sure if there is something missing that should be on the top or bottom of the spring, like a rubber bushing maybe? I will probably be buying shocks as well but I don't feel like that will fully solve the problem.

I am new to the golf cart scene and having trouble finding info on the coil spring rear suspension for these so any help would be appreciated!

If I remember correctly when I helped my neighbor with his '88 there wasn't anything there as far as a bushing.
