Default starting procedure ?

I have a 91 ez-go two cycle gas. I just rebuilt it and it runs down the road fine. It starts very well when its warm. The problem is when its cold . I can't seem to get the correct combination of throttle and choke. How do you guys start yours? full choke ,? partial choke? When it does start it seems to smoke some ,I still have the 50 to 1 mix in it.When it starts cold it has to run about 30 seconds to smooth out and be driveable. I was thinking of richening the carb but it runs so well I hate to mess with it . By the way it still has the factory Pulsar ign.
Any ideas? thanks

The rings have most likely not seated yet. Don't change anything until you run that first tank, and switch to 128:1.

I have an 87 2pg. On the first start of the day, I pull the choke all the way. Step on the pedal, and it jumps to life. I immediately push the choke back in. Rest of the day I just step on the pedal. Mine really does not like the choke.
