Default Anyone done a Governor delete Yamaha g16

Reason I知 asking is I traded for a g16 I have to replace the input shaft but someone has cut the governor shaft off next to the case should I remove the weights on the input shaft or should everything work ok without removing them thanks

It's up to you. If you drive fast a lot, remove it. If you mostly take it easy, it should be ok. But if you're opening up the transaxle to replace the input shaft, that's the time to do it.

When I replaced my input shaft in my Vanguard cart, it was all new to me. The new shaft was installed with all OEM governor parts. It's never been a problem. If I did it again, I'd probably remove the weights from shaft and eliminate the governor arm.

On a stock engine cart, I'd leave everything as is. The governor arm and bushings can be drilled out so they rotate freely on the gov arm shaft.

I知 putting a 420 in it so I値l probably remove the weights thanks for the replies
